CITYSCAPES
New York, Chicago, Miami, Montreal, Paris, London, La Havana, Toronto, are some of the cities where I enjoy taking pictures, portraying their buildings, skylines and streets
Ontario, June 2022
Exploring and finding original viewpoints of a city is what most of photographers should do, to create images that are different from the ones of the classic and well known views. However, there are times, when the weather and light conditions cooperate, that turn even the well known sceneries into something a little bit special. This view of Ottawa canal was taken right after a storm, which started to clear while the sun was setting.
Light over Montreal
Quebec, May 2021
This image has been taken a little earlier this year in a relatively still chilly evening. The panorama view of Montreal city skyline is from the Dieppe Park view point, right across the harbour of the Old Port. The clouds were moving pretty fast this evening, so I wasn't quite sure what the clouds pattern and the light of the setting sun will come up with, but surprisingly the lower and higher cloud layers were moving in a different direction, and created these two diagonals in the sky which eventually caught the warm colourful light from the fading sun.
La Maison Rose
France, May 2019
The Maison Rose is a restaurant, an Inn, located in a curly street of Montmartre, Paris. But more than an Inn, this is an iconic place, a hidden gem in the middle of the tortuous streets of Montmartre neighbourhood.
This day, there was two challenges, one because it was a Saturday evening in May, hence there was a chance that the place would be crowdy, and second because the weather was highly instable so the sky could have been totally overcast or at the opposite dead blue. Luckily I was greeted with a nice stormy sky and a decently empty street.
Neptuno
La Havana, March 2018
Whether under the sun, or after the storm, like in this one, La Havana streets convey a peculiar mood. The crack in the clouds let's the sun beam illuminating the wet surfaces of the street
Malecon Traffic
La Havana, March 2018
Maleçon is a boulevard that runs along La Havana city coastline. The main traffic is from Cuban taxis carrying tourists or honking to attract them for a city ride. The storm shower lets the road reflective, allowing the cars light beams participating to warm the scenery
Toronto Exit
Canada, March 2017
After a long walk through the city, on my way back to the accommodation, I passed onto a bridge over the rail tracks, on Spadina Ave, when the sun had just set. These buildings offered a nice reflexion surface, that extended the sun glow
Chicago suburbs at dusk
Chicago, USA, March 2015
Chicago, impressive city with 2,8 millions of people living here. This panorama image was taken from the Willis Tower, formerly named the Sears Tower and was quite a challenge as the deck is inclosed inside glass windows, full of impacts and reflections

Brickell neighborhood is crossed by Miami River which flows into the sea, between Brickell Key and Dodge Island, here in the glow of the sunrising light
Sunburst on Tower Bridge
London, September 2015
River Thames is incredibly crowded. A lot of ships are docked here and there and boats are travelling back and forth. The Tower Bridge gives a special mood to this traffic, especially when the sun sets, given the colors that can sometimes take place. I have been lucky to have these intense clouds, still letting the sun pass through. London is a magic city loaded with an old history which is latent everywhere

City hall place, by night
Quebec City, Avril 2017
I did not get a lot of images from my last trip to Quebec City, this one is one of the few, from the lovely Old Quebec City, a chilly night of April, after the rain.

London gate
UK, September 2015
Icon of London, the Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge, which from this view point looks like the gates of the city. This day, the clouds were just breaking enough to let pass the sunset warm light

Panorama of Chicago downtown after sunset
Hot and Cold, Montreal
Quebec, December 2017
Heading to the Mont-Royal belvedere in the hope to get a Montreal downtown skyline with a pinky twilight, instead, I was welcomed with a crazy sunset pouring the last orange sun beams into the city skyscrapers. Amongst these, the emblematic 1000 De la Gauchetière, on the left.
Enchained
Quebec, December 2018
Lachine lighthouse is an iconic place in Lachine. Erected in early XX century, it was a landmark in this sea route, when the maritime trade was in full expansion, to avoid the various hazards in this area of the St-Lawrence river. I’m still amazed to see how the winter transforms landscapes, not only in colors and tones but also in shapes.
